Assure Version 5.21 is the final release in the Assure 5.x series, bringing a solid set of improvements designed to support schools as technology evolves, while paving the way for the next significant phase of Assure development.

This release strengthens device compatibility, improves visibility into AI activity, enhances security controls, and expands integrations with security platforms.

Assure Web Filter Enhancements

In this release, we continue to focus on ensuring students stay safe online, no matter the device they use or the new tools they explore. Key updates include:

  • Strengthen protection across next-generation devices
  • Expanded mobile support
  • Reinforced device-level controls
  • Improved visibility into AI activity

Windows on ARM & CoPilot+ Support

As Windows on ARM and Copilot+ devices gain more traction in schools, Assure’s Web Filter now fully supports these devices, ensuring schools can adapt to modern hardware without worrying about gaps in online protection.

Apple iOS Support

iPhones and iPads remain widely adopted across schools, and this update brings Assure’s Web Filter to these devices for the very first time, bringing consistent protection to the mobile fleet. Whether students are learning in the classroom or learning remotely, they now receive the same level of protection and support across all Apple devices.

Uninstall Password Protection for Windows

Schools using the Assure On Device Web Filter for Windows asks now users, in most cases, students, to enter a password before uninstalling an application. This is ideal for BYOD environments where users have local administrator rights, helping prevent removal and maintain protection.

Claude AI Prompt Inspection

Schools need greater visibility into student usage of generative AI. Assure On‑Device Web Filter can now analyse prompts entered into Claude AI to identify and highlight high‑risk or concerning activity, giving school staff valuable insights to:

  • Support safe, constructive use of emerging AI technologies
  • Gain increased transparency into potentially harmful, unsafe, or inappropriate prompts

Alerts

Smarter AI that Understands Context More Accurately

Assure now includes a next-generation natural language processing AI engine that significantly improves its ability to recognise concerning content. This helps reduce false alarms and improve detection accuracy, giving schools clearer insights and greater confidence that the alerts they receive are both relevant and reliable.

Integrations Expanding the Assure Ecosystem

Palo Alto Networks© Strata Logging Service

Assure’s long‑standing integration with Palo Alto Networks© now expands to include the Strata Logging Service. Strata is Palo Alto’s cloud platform for collecting and storing log data from its firewalls and security services, providing a central place to aggregate this information. With this integration, schools can:

  • Bring Strata Log data into Assure for monitoring and reporting
  • Gain a more complete view of student online activity
  • Keep their existing Palo Alto setup unchanged

Cloudflare Secure Web Gateway

Schools using Cloudflare for web filtering can now connect their Cloudflare activity into Assure through newly added support for Cloudflare Secure Web Gateway. This provides schools with:

  • More flexibility in designing filtering setups,
  • Ability to keep an existing Cloudflare environment
  • Enhanced visibility and insights within Assure’s reporting
